Mission & Goals

Mission of the Women’s Philanthropic Network: To increase the endowment funds available to help women and girls in Collier County, and to build in all women a sense of empowerment through philanthropy.

Rationale for the Women’s Philanthropic Network: Society’s most chronic problems-from poverty to healthcare to violence-usually fall hardest on women. However, the funding of generic programs often ignores the specific needs of women and girls. The Women’s Funding Network reports that only 7 percent of private philanthropy in the U.S. is devoted to programs targeted at this underserved population.
