Guide to Collier Nonprofits

This guide is an information system designed for two distinct purposes:

First, as a strategic resource for the Community Foundation's grant committees to assist in proactively researching Collier nonprofits.

Second, by highlighting the mission and programs of Collier nonprofits, this guide will act as a primary resource for our fundholders and the general public.

We are asking every nonprofit serving Collier County to update their profile in the Guide to Collier Nonprofits. It's a free service, and there is no charge for registering or updating information.

This guide is simple to use and will provide any individual or group interested in a charity with a “snapshot” of what each agency is all about. In order to qualify for a grant from the Community Foundation the charity’s profile must be updated every June.

Grant Program

The Community Foundation of Collier County, in its continuing quest to strengthen the impact of philanthropy on our community, has adopted a strategic direction for grantmaking that will enable the Foundation to be  proactive, identify critical community needs and mobilize community resources.

Like other community foundations across the country, it is the Foundation’s goal to increase its ability to engage donors and fundholders and leverage its charitable dollars. To reach this goal, the Foundation will:
  1. Undertake significant, ongoing research and fact-finding that will isolate crucial issues facing Collier County;
  2. Involve donors in small committees that will engage nonprofits in meaningful dialogue about community needs;
  3. Create a clearing house of this information for use as a resource to donors, nonprofits, other grantors, and the community at large;
  4. Base our funding priorities in annual Foundation-directed grants to meet recognized needs; and
  5. Educate our donors about priority needs to assist them in their annual grants toward important causes they care about.
